The AISym4MED consortium gathered in Ankara, Türkiye, for its 6th General Assembly on 10–11 April 2025. Hosted at TIGA Headquarters, the two-day event brought together project partners from across Europe to review progress, explore exploitation pathways, and reinforce synergies around synthetic medical data and AI-driven healthcare solutions.
The Assembly kicked off with collaborative working sessions focused on practical integration of use cases into the AISym4MED platform. Partners shared updates, discussed strategic directions, and reflected on opportunities to maximise project impact. A dedicated session led by Zabala Innovation on communication and dissemination was followed by a deep dive into exploitation strategies and a comprehensive project status update led by Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS.
Ahead of the Assembly, on 9 April, TIGA also hosted a dynamic workshop under the framework of the AISym4MED Community of Practice (CoP). The afternoon began with talks introducing artificial intelligence in healthcare, including the use of generative AI and synthetic medical data. These sessions provided valuable insights into how the project leverages innovative technologies to enhance medical research while safeguarding patient privacy.
The event concluded with hands-on workshops exploring two key topics: clinical evaluation of synthetic data and federated learning applications. The sessions offered medical professionals, researchers, and students an opportunity to engage with real use cases—ranging from ECG and retinal image data to tabular health datasets—while contributing feedback to refine the project’s workflows.
From technical collaboration to community engagement, the Ankara meeting reinforced AISym4MED’s commitment to building responsible, innovative tools that support the future of AI in European healthcare.
